Elisa Beshero-Bondar, Ph.D.
Elisa is an Associate Professor of English, who started working at Pitt-Greensburg in Fall 2004. Before coming to Pitt-Greensburg, Elisa was a Graduate student at Penn State. Beyond teaching, advising, and caring for her students, Elisa is an author and has had one book published, “Women, Epic, and Transition in British Romanticism,” (University of Delaware Press, 2011).
Elisa was born and raised in New Castle, PA. She graduated from Neshannock High School in 1989 then went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in English from Washington and Jefferson College where she attended on scholarship. She started her under-grad as a pre-med major, and was on track to practice medicine “until I shadowed a doctor one day” she exclaimed. “That’s when I decided I never wanted to do that every day for the rest of my life!” Upon earning her BA in English, Elisa went directly to work on her MA in English at Penn State, and continued her graduate studies there, eventually earning her Doctorate.
Beyond the perks of a great education and a two degrees from Penn State, Elisa also met her husband, Greg Bondar, who was also a graduate student. From there, it was fireworks . . . and then the wedding, as they were married on July 5th, 1997. Greg is a part-time instructor of Anthropology at Pitt-Greensburg. They have been married for 15 years and reside in Greensburg.
Congratulations if Elisa was your answer!
