Psychology

38 credits
Bachelor of Science

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. It is one of the behavioral sciences that strive to figure out how and why people act the way they do.

We help many of our majors find jobs, assistantships, or internships in a career-relevant area before graduation.

Graduates from our program interested in working in clinical or service fields often go on to graduate school, usually earning a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.

Psychology is one of the most flexible and marketable majors, and teaches a variety of skills sought by employers, including training in critical thinking, writing, communication, research, and statistics, and encourages empathy and openness to diversity. These skills open an array of possible future career paths, including school and guidance counseling, health care and health sciences, corrections and forensic work, administration, public affairs, and business options like human resources, sales, or advertising.
