Visual and Performing Arts is a contemporary academic field that approaches the visual and performing arts as a cohesive body of study. Its purpose is to explore the interconnectedness of art history, music, and theater arts through a comparative examination of their themes, conventions, and aesthetic developments. This major also promotes understanding of the role of the arts in history and society and appreciation for human artistic expression.
