GREENSBURG, PA- Five members of the Pitt-Greensburg softball team were named to the 2012 AMCC All-Conference team released from the AMCC office Tuesday afternoon. Devan Zelonish (Hubbard, OH/Hubbard) earned first team honors while teammates Nicolette McHugh (Bulger, PA/Fort Cherry), Nicole Sich (Irwin, PA/Norwin) and Kelly Daniels (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) were named to the second team. Erie, PA- Pitt-Greensburg freshman Sarah Sopko (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) took a no-hitter into the seventh inning but Mt. Aloysius recorded two hits and a run in the bottom of the seventh to up end Pitt-Greensburg 2-1 in the first round of the 2012 AMCC Softball Tournament. Read More.

GREENSBURG, PA- Dan Moyer (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) hit two home runs and recorded eight RBIs as Pitt-Greensburg swept Hilbert College 7-4 and 18-8 clinching the first winning season in the history of the history of the program. Indiana, PA- Bryan Colish (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep.) hit a two out, two run home run while Mike Pearson (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) and Matt Kloos (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) combined to through five shutout innings in relief as Pitt-Greensburg earned the program’s first win over a NCAA division II school, 3-2 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon. GREENSBURG, PA- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released the Academic All-Conference Team on Thursday, recognizing 39 out of 294 University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg student athletes who achieved a minimum 3.2 grade-point average by the conclusion on the Fall 2011 semester.
