Bobcats score 23 in game one; split with Mt. Aloysius

GREENSBURG, PA- The Bobcats blasted four home runs and banged out 22 hits in game one but were held to just four runs on seven hits in game two as Pitt-Greensburg split a double header with Mt. Aloysius College Thursday afternoon.  UPG took game one 23-4 but dropped the nightcap 6-4.

Steven Anderson (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield), Dan Moyer (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield and Gio Schiano (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown) all hit home runs in the opener.  Anderson hit two home runs in the game, while Moyer hit a three-run home run and Schiano capped the game with a grand slam to right center.  Moyer finished game one with five RBI while Anderson and Schiano finished with four RBI apiece.

Dylin Brooks (Ardara, PA/Norwin) and Dave Coradi (Cranberry, PA/Seneca Valley) each chipped in offensively with three hits each.  Brooks finished 3-4 with a triple, double and a single, just a home run shy of the cycle, while Coradi went 3-5 with a double and three runs scored.

Andy Cornell (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) improved to 4-0 on the mound throwing five strong innings.  The junior lefty surrendered just one run and allowed four hits over five innings of work.  He struck out one and walked zero on the afternoon.

Matt Kochasic (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) threw a perfect seventh inning in relief.

Pitt-Greensburg got a great effort from game two starter Jeramy Kopacko (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville) who allowed no earned runs in six innings of work in a losing effort.  Matt Kloos (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) threw 1.0 innings of relief also allowing a single unearned run.

Garrett Herald (Grove City,PA/Grove City) paced the offensive attack going 2-4 with a an RBI and a double.

Pitt-Greensburg travels to Penn State Behrend on Saturday, April 14th, 2012.  First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
