Buffalo, NY- David Palmer (Pittsburgh, PA/Westinghouse) scored a career high 29 points on 13-17 shooting and two other Bobcats scored in double figures as Pitt-Greensburg picked up an 82-62 road victory at D’Youville College Saturday evening.

The win improves Pitt-Greensburg to 5-12 in the AMCC and keeps their playoff hopes alive for at least a few more days.  The Bobcat need a little help in order to force a three way tie for the sixth and final playoff spot.  UPG needs to win its final conference game against rival Pitt-Bradford and needs both Hilbert College and D’Youville College who currently stand at 6-10 in the conference to lose both of their final two games.

After trailing 35-31 at the intermission the Bobcats erupted to score 51 second half points while shooting 57.1% from the floor without attempting a single three pointer in the half.  Palmer who was forced to leave the contest the last time these two teams met with an injury scored 20 of his 29 points in the second half.

The Pitt-Greensburg defense also picked up the slack in the second stanza allowing D’Youville to shoot just 34.4% from the floor including just 1-11 from behind the arc.  The defense also held D’Youville’s Greg Osika to just three second half points after he torched the Bobcats for 15 in the first half.

Josh Kucenic (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) chipped in with 15 points while adding five rebounds and three steals.  Fellow senior Larry Bigante (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) helped the winning cause with 11 points.  12 different Bobcats scored on the evening including freshman Tiere Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) who netted a career high eight points.

The Bobcats host Bethany College in a non-conference matchup Wednesday evening in Chambers Hall at 7:00 PM.
