Palmer named AMCC Player of the Week
GREENSBURG, PA – University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg junior, David Palmer was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 30.
Against two of the top 3 teams in the AMCC standings, Palmer recorded his 12th and 13th double-double of the season and 6th and 7th in a row, averaging 25.0 ppg and 17.5 rpg. The junior forward tallied 18 points and 13 rebounds against La Roche which he followed up with a career day against Hilbert. Palmer scored a career high 32 points on 11-15 (73.3%) shooting and broke his own single game rebounding record of 20 boards when he pulled down 22 against the Hawks. For the week Palmer shot 69% (20-29) from the floor.
Palmer is leading the team in both rebounds and points for the season, averaging 12.4 rpg. Palmer is averaging 19.1 ppg for the season but this week he has had an average of 25 ppg.
The Bobcats return to action when they travel to Franciscan University on Wednesday, February 1 at 6:00 PM.
