Softball swept at Penn State Altoona
Altoona, PA- The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg softball team dropped a pair of conference games 3-1 and 11-1 in five innings Thursday evening at Penn State Altoona.
The Bobcats were held to just eight hits total in both games. Kelly Daniels (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) and Devan Zelonish (Hubbard, OH/Hubbard) were the only two UPG batters to have multiple hits. Both Zelonish and Daniels went 2-4 while Daniels also added a stolen base.
Sarah Sopko (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) threw six strong innings in the opener allowing three runs on six hits. She surrendered just a single earned run while striking out three.
Errors plagued the Bobcats in both games leading to a combined seven unearned runs between the two games.
Pitt-Greensburg now 15-15 on the season and 9-7 in the AMCC wrap up their regular season schedule when they travel to Hilbert College on Saturday, April 21st. First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
