Anderson, Colish and Gouveia tabbed to ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team

Ewing, NJ- University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s Stephen Anderson (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield), Bryan Colish (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep.) and Matt Gouveia (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) were all named to the ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.  Anderson and Colish earned second team honors while Gouveia was placed on the third team.

GREENSBURG, PA- Senior, Matt Gouveia (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) was named First Team All-AMCC and freshman, Steven Anderson (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) was named the AMCC Co-Newcomer of the year, while sophomore Bryan Colish (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep.) and freshman Garrett Herald (Grove City, PA/Grove City) were honorable mention selections.  The announcement came from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Bobcats sweep D'Youville, 9-5 and 9-6

Amherst, NY- The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s baseball team swept a pair of games at D’Youville College 9-5 and 9-6.  With the two victories the Bobcats improve their record to 15-21 and 8-10 in the AMCC.

Sunday's baseball game postponed due to weather

GREENSBURG, PA- Sunday's baseball regular season home finale against Hilbert College has been postponed due to inclement weather.  The Bobcats and Hawks have rescheduled the contest for Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the John DiVirglio Complex in Belle Vernon, PA.

Sunday's baseball double header at D'Youville postponed

GREENSBURG, PA- Sunday's double header at D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY has been postponed due to inclement weather.  No definite make-up date has been scheduled at this time.  The Bobcats will still make the trip to Buffalo on Saturday for their scheduled double header with Medaille College.

Miller, Coradi pitch Bobcats to sweep over Juniata

Belle Vernon, PA- Jeff Miller (Penn Hills, PA/CCAC-South) and Dave Coradi (Cranberry, PA/Seneca Valley) picked up their first career wins of their young Bobcat careers as Pitt-Greensburg swept a pair of non-conference games, 8-4 and 14-8 over Juniata College to extend their winning streak to five in a row.

Bobcats sweep Franciscan to even conference record at 6-6

Belle Vernon, PA- Bryan Colish (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep.) pitched a complete game in the opener and Matt Gouveia (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) cleared the bases with a bases loaded double in the bottom of the sixth as the Bobcats swept Franciscan University 10-6 and 7-5 Sunday afternoon at the John DiVirglio Complex.

Bobcats split a non conference double header at Hiram

Youngstown, OH-The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s baseball team split a double header with Hiram College Saturday afternoon at Bob Cene Park in Youngstown, OH.  The Bobcats dropped the first contest 11-10 but battled back to take game two 10-9 in eight innings.

Altmyer breaks UPG career wins record, Bobcats split with Altoona

Belle Vernon, PA- Pitt-Greensburg scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning of game two, to rally from a 5-3 deficit to defeat Penn State Altoona 6-5 and Paul Altmyer (Moon Township, PA/Moon) picked up the win on the mound with a complete game 8-hitter to become the all-time wins leader at UPG.  The Bobcats dropped game one, 11-10 in 8 innings.
