Pitt-Greensburg participating in Day of Giving

Westmoreland Day of GivingThe University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will be among the more than 700 nonprofit organizations in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties who hope to benefit from the 2012 Day of Giving event scheduled for Wednesday, October 3. The Day of Giving is organized by the Pittsburgh Community Foundation and its affiliate the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County.

Pitt-Greensburg donors are encouraged to make their donations to Pitt-Greensburg during this 24-hour period in order to give their gifts great impact. All donations (ranging from $25 to $10,000) made to Pitt-Greensburg at www.westmorelandgives.org from midnight through 11:59:59 p.m. on October 3 will receive a pro-rated portion of the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County’s matching pool. Pitt-Greensburg will use gifts received through the Day of Giving program to fund scholarships for students.

Pitt-Greensburg faculty and staff receive the added benefit of having their gifts count towards their participation in the annual Partners in Excellence Faculty and Staff Campaign.

The total match pool for the Pittsburgh Foundation will be $750,000 and for the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, approximately $80,000.
