WANT Job Fair set for Feb. 22; Free event for job seekers in the region

WANT Job & Career ExpoJob seekers will be given the opportunity to meet regional employers at the WANT Job and Career Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Ramada Greensburg Hotel and Conference Center (Greensburg). The Expo will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., during which job seekers will be able to learn about job opportunities, submit resumes to businesses, and take part in screening interviews. Recruitment for full-time, part-time, summer, and internship positions will be occurring.

Various workshops will also be offered throughout the afternoon for job seekers. These include “How To Make A Job Fair Work For You” and “How To Apply For Government Jobs & Navigate USAJOBS.gov.” A workshop for employers will also be held on “Reimagining Our Westmoreland Planning and Process.”

The WANT Job and Career Expo is free for all job seekers. Advance registration for job seekers is not required. Job seekers can register by calling 724-838-8040. Resumes and professional attire are strongly suggested for those attending the job fair.

In operation for more 25 years, the WANT consortium is a unique collaborative effort between the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce, local colleges and universities, CareerLink offices, and economic development entities in Westmoreland County. WANT’s primary focus has been to provide this job fair annually, held at a central location in Greensburg, which brings together local employers and job seekers. Historically, the WANT Expo has been attended by college students, college alumni, and the community. Attendance typically ranges from 300 to 600 job seekers.
