Timothy Savisky, PhD, is interested in landscape ecology and the interaction of terrestrial ecosystems with aquatic systems. The students he mentors commonly conduct projects related to water quality, including heavy metals in ecosystems, benthic macroinvertebrate interactions, and relationships between land use and water quality. He is interested in bringing students into field experience, so he regularly teaches a Rocky Mountain Field Course, and is working on a Study Abroad Ecuador program as well. Another area Dr. Savisky explores is the relationship between science and faith. He presents lectures and writes on this topic. He is the advisor for the student Christian fellowship group on campus and also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Westmoreland Cleanways.
