More Than Sad: Mental Health Issues in School-Aged Children is a workshop conducted by the Western Pennsylvania Division of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that focuses on suicide prevention for parents/guardians and teachers of students. The program shares how to recognized signs of depression and other mental health problems and initiate the conversations with children. Helpful resources will be shared.
This event, to be held Wednesday, September 19, at 6 p.m in the Hempfield Room (Chambers Hall), is open to the public. It will be of particular interest to Education and Psychology majors.
