Pitt-Greensburg named one of five most scenic college campuses

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg has made its way onto another “list,” this one recommending the “Five Most Scenic College Campuses Near Pittsburgh.” You may have seen the list in your social-media feed when the article was published by CBS Pittsburgh on their website.

The list describes our campus as follows: “Although it is situated just outside of downtown Greensburg, Pitt-Greensburg’s campus is tucked back in a quiet, scenic wooded area in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands on the former Charles Lynch Estate. The college also has more to offer than a nice setting, having recently been earned a spot on Money Magazine’s list of best college values in the country.”

Joining Pitt-Greensburg on this list is Chatham University, Geneva College, Waynesburg University, and St. Vincent College.

While not an “official” ranking, this list confirms what we’ve known all along—and what most guests comment on when they visit our campus—Pitt-Greensburg is beautiful in all seasons.

What a pleasant surprise to see that this opinion piece was written by Janelle Sheetz, a 2011 graduate of Pitt-Greensburg. Her bio reads: “Janelle Sheetz is a 20-something closed-captioner by day, writer by night, just outside of Pittsburgh. She also regularly contributes to AXS.com and Examiner.com, and her writing has also been featured on The Billfold and Neutrons Protons.” We look forward to reading more of Sheetz’s writing!
