Dear Pitt-Greensburg Campus Community:
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is excited to announce that it will host a drive-through commencement ceremony for its 2021 and 2020 graduates. Details are being finalized. Please save the dates for May 1 and May 2 and watch for additional information in future emails and on our Commencement webpage.
Each graduate will be limited to one vehicle at the event, and guests of the graduate may accompany the graduate in the vehicle. The degree-granting portion of the ceremony will include the opportunity for each graduate to be individually recognized and celebrated as they receive their diploma cover and are congratulated by President Gregerson and the platform party and have their official graduation picture taken. This will be streamed online to allow families and friends to watch and celebrate virtually. Pitt-Greensburg looks forward to welcoming you and your family to this event where we can celebrate your hard work and achievement together. Please note that COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
Anyone attending the ceremony will be required to wear a face covering throughout the event. With the proper health and safety protocols in place, including face coverings, physical distancing, and good hand hygiene, the COVID-19 Medical Response Office is confident that this ceremony will present minimal risk.
The decision to have a drive-through commencement is contingent on the state of the virus. These plans are subject to change. Students and families are encouraged to remain highly flexible in their planning. Please consider the possibility of cancellations or changes when planning travel.
If you haven’t already done so, please order your cap and gown from the Barnes & Noble Campus Store website.
Details on academic regalia and upcoming sales in the Campus Store can be found on their website. For specific questions regarding commencement, please contact Sherra Moors, Commencement Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 724-836-7743.
Dr. Robert Gregerson
