Message from President Gregerson regarding campus shift to Elevated Risk Posture

(Message posted December 8, 2020)

Dear Campus Community,

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is committed to the health and safety of all members of our community. Due to the increasing COVID-19 infection rate in Westmoreland County, the Pitt-Greensburg campus is moving to the Elevated Risk Posture, effective 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

This decision is driven by recommendations from the Healthcare Advisory Group. In the Elevated Risk posture, gatherings are capped at 25 people. Winter sessions will be offered remotely. Faculty and staff should continue to work remotely whenever possible. Facilities and police personnel who are required to be on campus may continue to report while following the mitigation measures in place. Refer to the Elevated Risk Posture section of your Activity Area Plan for guidance on the working status of your particular position.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the Pitt-Greensburg COVID-19 Updates page [link no longer available] for additional information.

Promoting a safe and healthy environment depends upon all of us doing our part. I thank you for the part that you play in keeping our campus community as safe as possible. Please continue to wear a face covering, maintain physical distance between yourself and others, and wash your hands frequently.

I wish you all the best of health and comfort.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Gregerson
President, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg
