Sharon M Turchick

Sharon Turchick, CPA, MBA has taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Standard Costs, Budgets and Profit Planning, Accounting Information Systems and Financial Statement Analysis, Personal Financial Planning, and Intermediate Accounting at Pitt Greensburg. She also supervises the Senior Project Capstone Course for Accounting. Prior to full time employment in the fall of 2011 at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Sharon taught on an adjunct basis at the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland and Point Park University while performing consulting work. Much of Ms. Turchick’s career was spent in industry as a Chief Financial Officer. She was also a Senior Auditor at Arthur Anderson & Company for several years. Sharon is an active CPA and a member of the PICPA, AICPA, and a registered key contact for the organizations who can be called upon to work with legislators as needed. She continues to provide independent, practical consulting services for various industries on a limited basis, at times with current and former students, and has served on the Board of Directors of several local companies.
Since October, 2018 Ms. Turchick was recognized as the Supervisor of Business Practicum in appreciation of past mentoring work with students including expanding Accounting and Management employment opportunities and internships. Sharon is actively involved in advising, student development and providing merited recommendations and networking opportunities with personal business contacts for student internship and employment opportunities. She is also the faculty advisor for the Accounting and Business Club. Ms. Turchick maintains contact with many accounting alumni to assist them in their career and has organized accounting alumni reunions since 2016 on a regular basis.
