Timothy P Savisky, PhD

  • Assistant Professor of Biology

Timothy Savisky, PhD, teaches courses in Ecology and Environmental Science. He is interested in landscape ecology and the interaction of terrestrial ecosystems with aquatic systems. The students he mentors commonly conduct projects related to water quality, including heavy metals in ecosystems, benthic macroinvertebrate interactions, and relationships between land use and water quality. Another area Dr. Savisky explores is the relationship between science and faith. He presents lectures and writes on this topic. He is the advisor for the student Christian Fellowship Club and as well as the Environmental Club. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Westmoreland Cleanways, a local recycling group, the Sewickley Creek Watershed Association, which mainly addresses acid mine drainage, and FLM Haiti, an educational ministry.
