What kinds of things can you do with a degree in Biological Science? Frankly, you’ll prepare to pursue any career that calls you to solve problems. Whether that’s in health care, scientific research, teaching, environmental science, conservation and wildlife, tourism, forensic science, microbiology, or graduate school, medical school or another program in a number of fields.
Pre-Medicine and Health Professions
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects health professions among the fastest growing career paths, attributed to an aging Baby Boomer generation, and more people with access to health care. Prepare for these in demand careers through specialized programs that ensure you earn the pre-requisites and science background you need to succeed in Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, and Health & Rehabilitation Science or as a Physician Assistant, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist.
SLC Scholarship Program
Pitt-Greensburg has been awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to increase the retention and graduation rates of students in Biology or Chemistry. Through the Science Learning Community (SLC) program, scholarships of up to $10,000 per year for a period of up to four years are available to eligible academically talented students from high schools serving Fayette and Washington Counties and rural areas of Westmoreland County in Pennsylvania.
