Explore the World Through A Social Scientific Lens
The field of Criminal Justice observes the handling of the accused and those convicted of a crime. Just as importantly, Criminal Justice concerns crime victims, the police, courts and correctional systems, and the impact crime has on our society.
Our program offers a social scientific approach to studying the criminal justice system in the United States. Our students are empowered to succeed in a variety of careers. In addition, students seeking graduate education develop an excellent foundation of research skills.
In our program, you will gain essential knowledge of the police, courts, and corrections through the lens of a social scientist. Our elective courses offer you exposure to relevant and timely topics, including (but are not limited to):
- Victimology
- Restorative Justice
- Criminal Investigation
- Terrorism.
All of our Criminal Justice faculty members have research and/or practical experience in the field. They can help guide you down the path of your choosing.
As a Pitt-Greensburg Criminal Justice student, you will have many opportunities to work with faculty in the field. You will complete 120 hours of experience in the Criminal Justice field of your choosing. This experience will guide your ideal career path and strengthen your career potential. We also have an engaged community of successful Criminal Justice alumni. These professionals can offer networking connections throughout federal, state, and local justice systems.
