Two Spanish Majors studying in residence hall

The Power of One Connection

If you love to travel, communicate, and connect with people from many different cultural environments, the study of Spanish is for you! The Spanish major and minor programs at Pitt-Greensburg help students develop the cultural and linguistic skills necessary for Spanish-speaking or bilingual professional environments.

At Pitt-Greensburg, Spanish majors explore the language, history, literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking world, with an emphasis on diversity and cultural exchange. We offer small classes, individual attention and support, and varied opportunities for practice both inside and outside of class.

Students connect with other Spanish speakers through our active Spanish Club and bi-weekly Spanish Conversation Hour. Our faculty prepares and strongly encourages students to study abroad in Spanish speaking countries through identifying programs and scholarships that suit their needs. Our majors and minors have participated in summer or semester programs in Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, PerĂº, and Spain.
