Members of the Pitt-Greensburg Golf Outing Committee are thrilled to invite the community to participate in the drone golf ball drop raffle, a new activity that will occur at the Pitt-Greensburg Golf Outing, presented by Ebara Elliott Energy, scheduled for Sept. 26 at the Hannastown Golf Club. “We’re excited to bring this fun, visual display to our tour golf outing,” said Sheila Kudrick, Pitt-Greensburg’s Constituent Relationship manager and golf outing organizer. “Purchase your raffle tickets today and get involved in a different way!

Purchasers don’t need to be present at the golf outing to be a winner in the raffle; the actual drone golf ball drop will be livestreamed from the Hannastown Golf Club.”

Golf ball chances (1 / $30; 2 / $50; 5 / $100) are available online (https://bit.ly/drone-golf-ball-drop-greensburg) through Sept. 25, as supplies last. The three golf balls closest to the target will win prizes, as well as the ball farthest away from the target. Prizes are:

  • 1st (closest to the target, first ball in the hole): $1,000;
  • 2nd (second closest to the target, second in): $500;
  • 3rd (third closest to the target, third in): $250;
  • Farthest from the target: $100.

The three areas that will benefit from the golf outing and the drone golf ball drop raffle are the Student Emergency Fund, Pitt-Greensburg Athletics, and the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association.

  • The Student Emergency Fund provides aid at critical times to students facing unexpected, emergency situations (beyond direct academic costs), such as medical necessities, food insecurity, and travel expenses.
  • Pitt-Greensburg Athletics is composed of 13 Division III athletic teams that compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. More than 15 percent of Pitt-Greensburg’s student population participates in Athletics.
  • The Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association (PGAA) promotes fellowship among alumni and connects alumni with current students for scholarships, mentoring, and volunteering.

“The funds raised from the golf outing make a great impact on our students’ education and experience at Pitt-Greensburg,” said Kudrick. “Thank you to our contributors, including corporate sponsors Ebara Elliott Energy, Groundworks, Fotorecord Print Center, SSM Industries Inc., BrightTree Studios, Hampton by Hilton Greensburg, Doing Better Business, TP Electric Inc., and TMR Roofing. The support of our golfers and our donors truly makes a difference to our students and programs.”

The golf outing is currently at capacity. Interested golfers are welcome to join the waitlist.
