The Power of One Decision

As a historian, you will explore not just the past but the realm of human possibility. How have societies functioned and failed? How can we weigh their achievements and atrocities. How have they shaped the world in which we live?

The History Program at Pitt-Greensburg focuses on job skills most companies look for:

  • critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • good writing.
  • excellent research and communication skills.

We incorporate these skill-building methods in an environment where you can pursue your interests. You will be involved in a community of historians that includes professors, students, and alumni.

From your first semester on campus, you will be paired with a History faculty member for advising and mentorship. In recent years, History majors have attended national conferences and pursued independent studies, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships. If you value hands-on experience and one-on-one mentorship, our faculty would be glad to explore opportunities with you.
