Established in 2009, the PGAA Volunteer Excellence Award recognizes alumni who have selflessly dedicated their time and effort to support the PGAA and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. This prestigious award honors individuals who have contributed significantly to the success of the alumni association and the university through active participation in meetings, events, and special projects.

Domasky, a 2000 graduate of Pitt-Greensburg, exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement that the award seeks to honor. As an inspirational author, storyteller, and founder of the Motivation Champs sharing platform, Domasky has worked tirelessly to inspire others and foster a sense of positivity and community.

His leadership extends to his role as the president of Feeding the Spirit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing poverty, hunger, and homelessness in Westmoreland County. Through his work, Domasky has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others, whether by organizing events, advocating for resources, or simply offering a listening ear.

“Dom’s commitment to helping others in the community is unlimited,” said Huong Vo, president of the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association. “He helps the recipients of his service, while inspiring those serving with him to do more.”

Domasky also is the co-founder of Motivation Champs and Friends, “an inspiration sharing platform” whose mission is to share inspiration, smiles, and positivity through social media, in-person presentations, and client publishing. Five years ago, the group started a turkey drive to provide meals to local families in need of Thanksgiving meals. This initiative has successfully delivered hundreds of turkeys and meal fixings, thanks to the efforts of Domasky and his dedicated team of volunteers.

“He leads by example, inspiring others with his genuine care for the community and his tireless efforts to make a meaningful difference,” wrote one of his nomination supporters. “He doesn’t seek recognition—he seeks results. His work ethic and humility are matched only by his kindness and his belief in the power of service.”

Domasky serves as the announcer for Hempfield girls field hockey and is an active supporter of the Pitt-Greensburg Men’s Basketball Alumni Club (MBAC) where he serves as the social media coordinator. He and his family can be found courtside during basketball season. He and his wife, Liz, have two children.

“My degree at Pitt-Greensburg helped me get a foot in the door so many times. Regardless of the position I was applying for, my Bachelor of Science was always looked at fondly.” He added, “How does it feel . . . my Mom, who’s no longer with us, lived a life of service, kindness, and caring. Somehow, I feel she’s smiling down on us today, thinking—she did alright.”
