Message from President Gregerson regarding January 6 events at US Capitol

Dear Pitt-Greensburg campus community:

At Pitt-Greensburg, we proudly support the American democratic processes and are deeply concerned by the events that occurred at the U.S. Capitol yesterday. Please remember, as you discuss these issues with others, that civil discourse and respect are the key components of the Pitt Promise and are the foundation of any dialogue. Like Chancellor Patrick Gallagher, we believe that our democracy is not to be taken for granted and that we share in upholding its ideals while working together to create a more perfect union. We also join him in seeing our country’s future leaders in our students--and that fills us with hope for tomorrow. Please take a moment to read Chancellor Gallagher’s statement, an important expression of the University of Pittsburgh’s response to the January 6 events at the US Capitol.

Dr. Robert Gregerson
